About Us

History

Founded by Chief Designer Dave Thompson, Marine East was established with one purpose in mind: to improve the design and functionality of common components found on most fiberglass boats. Leveraging his years as a successful boat dealer, combined with an in-depth knowledge of the manufacturing process, Dave acquired the unique ability to identify areas of industry need.

Today, Marine East continues to address those areas through a dedicated reengineering process. This process results in products that last longer, look better, and improve manufacturing efficiencies—efficiencies that translate directly into better value for the boating consumer.

Quality

Marine East products are molded of the best marine-grade composites and are designed from the ground up to last.

This commitment to durability was once famously demonstrated by the "Hammer Test." What started as a dare years ago became a boat show tradition, where visitors were invited to strike a product with a hammer. This unique and challenging test served as a vivid testimony to the extreme resilience of our engineered plastics and proved the real-world punishment our components could withstand. Marine East is proud that every product always passed the Hammer Test, a legacy that continues to define our quality standards today. While the exhibit has since retired, our foundational principle of building the toughest marine components remains our guiding force.

Commitment

The components we produce—like thru-hulls, hose barbs, and vital fittings—are often unseen, but their reliability is non-negotiable. They are integral to the structural and operational safety of your fiberglass boat, and their failure can endanger your family's safety and interrupt your time on the water.

That is why Marine East is driven to innovate. We develop new products and relentlessly improve upon existing designs, ensuring our components exceed industry standards for strength and longevity. Our commitment is to quality you can rely on, allowing us to guarantee the integrity of your vessel and assure your continued boating pleasure.
